Sabbagh, Indonesian Ambassador to Syria discuss strengthening parliamentary relations

Damascus, SANA- Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hamoudeh Sabbagh affirmed the deeply –rooted friendly relations that bind Syria and Indonesia, hoping that parliamentary relations between the two countries would be strengthened to serve the mutual interests.

Sabbagh’s remarks came during a meeting with Indonesian Ambassador to Syria Djoko Harjanto on Monday on the occasion of wrapping up his duties as ambassador of his country to Syria.

Sabbagh thanked Harjanto for the successful missions he carried out in Syria despite the war and the unilateral coercive measures
imposed on the Syrian people.

For his part, Harjanto expressed happiness that Syria is recovering and restoring security and stability following long years of war waged against it, hoping that Syria will return more prosperous than before.

The Ambassador hailed the special relations binding the two friendly countries at the international forums, especially in the United Nations, pointing out to the remarkable increase in parliamentary, trade and sports visits of the delegations between the two countries recently.
