Damascus, SANA-  Ambassador of the Algerian Republic to Syria Saleh Bousha affirmed that relations between his country and Syria ” are continuous and rapidly developing in different political, economic and social domains,” indicating that the two countries have the political will to invigorate cooperation and to restore economic relations to their previous level ahead of the crisis.

He added that through its participation, Algeria expresses willingness to open the door for the return of the Algerian companies to the Syrian market in a step towards rebuilding a partnership that would serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples and countries.

He added that Syria has been the first economic and trade partner for his country as the volume of trade exchange between the two countries in the year 2010 reached up to USD 600 million.

He pointed out that Syria used to participate regularly in the Algerian expos and its last participation was in the activities of Algeria’s International Fair last June.

The Ambassador considered that there is an opportunity for activating the cooperation agreements the bases which had been set by the Syrian-Algerian Joint Committee in 2010, referring to the capabilities enjoyed by the two countries which will enable them to increase the volume of trade exchange.
