Russian-Syrian scientific meeting to exchange experiences in field of installing artificial limbs

Damascus, SANA- On the sidelines of the International Conference on the Return of Refugees, currently held in Syria, the Russian Humanitarian Mission organized a scientific meeting at Tishreen Military Hospital with the participation of doctors specializing in orthopedic surgery and postgraduate students from various Syrian government hospitals.

The meeting included a presentation of the mechanism for installing an artificial limb that was accomplished with Russian academic expertise specializing in applied medical industries. It is made of titanium alloys and obtained ISO certification in quality in 2016 and contributes to improving the condition of patients with degenerative arthritis and people who have suffered military injuries and various accidents.

In a statement to reporters, Dr. Mikhail Shvachuk, an expert in the manufacture of artificial limbs, explained that the scientific meeting is an opportunity to exchange experiences with Syrian doctors who have high skills in this aspect, in addition to a presentation of advanced Russian techniques in the field of installing artificial limds, noting that coordination has been made with the Syrian side to provide hundreds of artificial limbs for patients in Syria until the end of the year, for free.
